I run a report service on my site, and I am seeing an increasing number of articles being submitted, solely for the backlink given in the Resource Box. This might be due to the growing number of PLR articles and material that is becoming available.
Today, there is not necessarily anything wrong with this, I just believe that writers who are doing this are missing possible traffic and/or consumers. Such source boxes will only benefit their site rankings in incoming links that are valued by any search engine.
Is this a bad thing? No. Where they are losing out can be as follows.
Much of the traffic to my post directory comes from search engines, by people searching for info on a specific topic. Now, this user types within their key words, presses o-n the search box, and is given a listing of relevant sites. They chose one, and are taken up to the author's article. They read the article about, say, snowboarding, think 'This is interesting' and go to the author's source box at the end of the article to see what else they've to say on this issue. There, they locate a link to some site marketing mobile ringers. Is the reader likely to be impressed, or thinking about this? Not so likely. They would like to learn about snowboarding, perhaps not personalize their phone. I really believe among three things will happen then:
The reader leaves the entire site in disgust.
The viewer clicks on a link to some relevant report.
The reader clicks on the related Google Ad-sense (or similar contextual advertising) offer.
They do not click the author's reference link. Be taught extra info on our partner article directory by going to linklicious coupon. That's a potential consumer lost, very probably permanently.
Yes, put a link in to your site in the reference package, but many article directories let several links, therefore for goodness sake put a link in that' ;s linked to the article subject too, and ultimately put it in first, before you lose the consumer.

Adding something that does. Add a report index, and have the source field saying 'To learn more articles on this subject, just click here.' Add a web directory, and have the writing say 'To see links to sites on this issue, click here.' Or just visit ClickBank, search for related tasks, and have a link to them, together with the link saying something such as 'If you prefer to learn more on this issue, buy this item.' Ultimately, not just a direct connect to the item, but a cloaked or redirected one.
Using this method, you still get that connect to your website that you were after actually, but, furthermore, you have the chance to earn money from your audience in a new way.
